Bilify is invoicing and billing software for companies, built for Macedonia first. This page explains how your workspace is organised and the order in which to set it up, so you can go from a new account to your first issued invoice.

How Bilify is organised

  • Your account is you: name, email, password and passkeys. One account can belong to several companies.
  • A company (also called a workspace) holds everything else: clients, documents, numbering, products, expenses, reports, settings and its own subscription. Nothing is shared between two companies.
  • Members are the people who sign in to a company. Each member has a role (Owner, Admin, Accountant or Employee) that decides what they can see and do.
  • Clients are the people and businesses you invoice. If you switch on the client portal, they can see their documents online without a Bilify account.

Set up in this order

  1. Create your account and confirm your email address.
  2. Choose a plan. Your first company starts with a free trial.
  3. Check your company profile: tax number (EDB), registration number (EMBS), address, logo.
  4. Create a numbering series and connect it to a document type. A new company has no numbering yet, so you cannot issue a document before this step.
  5. Add your first client.
  6. Create and issue your first invoice.
  7. Optionally, set up the client portal and invite your team.

The checklist does the remembering

The Overview page shows a Get your workspace ready card with these steps. Each step ticks itself off as soon as the real thing exists (a client, a numbering series, an issued document), and the card disappears when everything is done. You can also dismiss it in that browser.

Finding help inside the app

  • Help for this page: the help button in the top bar (hover it to see the name) opens the articles written for the screen you are on, with their walkthroughs. A small dot on it means there is an article for that page.
  • Help centre: under Support in the sidebar. Inside the app you only see articles for features your package includes and your role can use.
  • Support tickets: if something does not work as described, open a ticket and the Bilify team replies in the app.

What depends on your package

Some features, such as stock, recurring expenses, contracts, the API or a portal on your own domain, are only on certain packages. Articles about them show which package they need. See Your package for what yours includes.
